Grace Rouvray hails from the regional town of Albury Wodonga.
Since moving to Sydney in 2012, Grace has worked across writing, acting, comedy and podcasting.
In 2016, Grace started a blog chronicling her thoughts and feelings on dating. Following a viral response to her blog, she turned the stories into the scripted series 600 Bottles of Wine. The series premiered on BBC Three in 2018 and has since been acquired by Network Ten, Virgin Inflight Entertainment, TVNZ On Demand, YLE Finland, CBC Canada, ABC iview and Netflix AU/NZ.
The Guardian UK listed Grace’s writing with the likes of Hannah Gadsby, Felicity Ward, Claudio O’Doherty, and The Letdown, calling her “A unique and refreshing voice, great things are expected of Grace.”
“Unflinching, unapologetic, and incredibly real, 600 Bottles of Wine is a hilarious and heartfelt look at life after love in the age of Tinder.” TV NZ
“There’s a comfortable ease to the banter, making me wonder why the fuck Grace Rouvray hasn’t managed to nab a TV series deal or even a comedic feature.” The Curb
Grace wrote and performed the Hour Of Power stand-up series with Katie Lees to a sold-out audience at Sydney Fringe Comedy, following its success the two comedians took the show to a stand-alone season at Flight Path Theatre and Adelaide Fringe online.
Her acting credits include House of Gods, Heartbreak High, The PM’s Daughter, Colin From Accounts, biopics House of Hancock, Brock and Bruce Beresford’s film Ladies in Black.
Grace met Katie on her second day at drama school at the University of Wollongong in 2009. They serendipitously sat next to each other in a lesson and at the end of the class, they decided to get a coffee.
The rest is history. That one coffee became a walk, became a wine, became a rant, became calling each other most days to debrief about everything and nothing.
As two creatives it was only a matter of time till they would collaborate together. They put their heads together and turned their overly detailed and cringe chats into a stand-up series Hour of Power.
Rehearsals and social times started to blur as they brainstormed at pubs or on big long walks. This show also kickstarted their relationship and obsession with Flight Path Theatre.
Over their 13 years of deeply connected friendship, not much changed. These best friends would share their hopes, dreams, aspirations, commiserations, boy dramas and boy victories, right up until the last walk they took together.
